Frequently asked questions
- Is my data private?
- Yes. Everything you enter stays on your own device. The app has no account, no server, and no tracking, so your subscriptions, prices, and notes are never shared with us or anyone else unless you choose to export and share them yourself.
- Is this financial advice?
- No. It is an organizational tool to help you track and review your own subscriptions and recurring bills. It does not give financial advice. Always check current terms, prices, and cancellation rules with each provider directly.
- How does the app decide what I should cancel?
- It does not decide for you. It sorts each plan by how often you say you use it and what it costs per use: anything you marked as never used is flagged to consider cancelling, rarely used or pricey-per-use plans are flagged to review, and the rest are kept. You always make the final call by setting your own decision on each plan.
- How are the monthly and yearly totals worked out?
- Every plan is converted to the same basis. A weekly, quarterly, half-yearly, or yearly price is turned into a true monthly cost (and a yearly cost), so you can fairly compare plans on different billing cycles and see your real total spend.
- How do the free-trial reminders work?
- On the Trials tab you enter the start date and length of a free trial, and the app works out the Cancel By date and shows a colour-coded days-left badge. Set a phone reminder for that date so a trial never quietly starts charging you. The app itself does not send notifications.
- Can I move my data to a new phone?
- The app stores data locally, so it does not sync automatically. Use the export option on the Guide tab to save a CSV report or a JSON backup before switching devices.
- How do I reset everything?
- Use the clear-all-data option on the Guide tab, or uninstall the app to remove all local data from your device.
